I couldn’t cheat nature after reducing my football age to 21 – Bobby Short

He explained that Nii Lante Bannerman helped him secure a club in the North African country but his age was reduced to 21 and no one noticed because of his small nature.

The midfielder revealed that his coach thought he was too young and therefore, he had to undergo rigorous training which almost cost him his life.

“I was injured and trying to come back. Nii Lante Bannerman wanted to help me so I started training because now I look heavier than I am now. I went to Egypt and changed my age to 21,” he told Dan Kwaku Yeboah on his YouTube channel.

“The coach thought I was really 21 because of my height, so every time we closed training he would tell me to join the U-20 team for training.

“The way the children run, I know that I can’t lie to nature and I don’t take care of it, I will change my life with money, so I have to go home.”

Bobby Short currently does not have a club, he last played for Ebusua Dwarfs and according to him, he left the Cape Coast club because they could not pay him enough.

“When I came home, I joined Ebusua Dwarfs. There whenever he had to pay me, he used the reason of this club as a stepping stone for me.

“Meanwhile, I am not a child, I have a family and children to feed. I don’t even know what else he is talking about so I have to stop because his salary is like 600 or 700 cedis in 2018. he added.
