I am working hard to play in the Premier League

While he still receives all the accolades in Italy’s Serie A for his goal-scoring prowess, the Nigerian striker. Victor Osimhen has declared openly that he wants to play in the English Premier League and he is working hard to achieve that dream.

Osimhen, who was recently voted Italy’s Best Foreign Athlete, has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs; especially in the EPL where there is reportedly interest from the likes of Manchester United Arsenal and Chelsea among many others.

The 24-year-old has scored 19 goals in 21 Serie A appearances this season.

Although Osimhen has enjoyed his time at Napoli and Italy as a whole, he is ready to follow in the footsteps of some of Nigeria’s legendary football stars who are enjoying themselves in the EPL.

The likes of Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha, Mikel John Obi, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Osaze Odemwingie among many others all had a great time playing in England’s top flight.

“I think playing in one of the five best leagues in the world is an incredible feeling for me.”

“Many people around the world consider the Premier League to be the best and strongest league but now I am in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.

“I’m working hard to make sure that I can achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day, but like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep my spirits up and keep improving,” Osimhen told reporters. in Italy.

Awards roll on

At the award as the best Foreign Athlete in Italy, Osimhen was full of praise for those who thought he deserved the honor.

He expressed his appreciation through a message on his Twitter account where he wrote: “Good Feelings Awarded the Best Foreign Athlete 2022 In Italy, Thank You For Your Support, God Almighty🙏🏽”

A recent recipient of the Globe Award and a nominee for the King of the Pitch award at the annual Nigeria Pitch Awards billed to take place this month in Abuja, Osimhen has grown in leaps and bounds.

No doubt, Osimhen will surely earn more records and accolades with his incredible displays week after week.

Osimhen is the first player to score in eight consecutive games for Napoli and in Serie A since Cristiano Ronaldo between December 2019 and February 2020.

The prolific Nigerian striker needs just three goals to equal George Weah’s Serie A record of 46 goals having scored 43 in 72 appearances.
