Hubtel wins big at the Ghana Fintech Awards

Hubtel, Ghana’s leading payment technology, instant commerce, and messaging company, emerged as the big winner at the recently concluded Ghana Fintech Awards on January 27, 2022 at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

Hubtel picked up five awards––the most of any company at the awards night, including the coveted “Fintech Company of the Year” award. Awards won by Hubtel as a company are:

• IT/Tech Firm of the Year
• Fintech Platform of the Year
• Fintech Company of the Year
• UI/UX Fintech Company of the Year
• Payment Technology Service Provider of the Year

Hubtel’s innovative solutions and commitment to providing a user-friendly platform has been recognized and celebrated by the industry. The award won by Hubtel is a testament to the company’s dedication to driving innovation and promoting financial inclusion in Ghana.

In addition to the award, the night also saw Elsie Bram, Head of Fast Trade at Hubtel, win the “Female Fintech Personality of the Year” award which recognizes the achievements of women in the fintech industry.

Elsie has played a key role in the success, development and growth of Hubtel’s “fast trade” operations which are now available in Kumasi, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Koforidua, Tamale, Ho, Accra and Tema. He joined the company in 2007 as a Mobile Campaign Manager, responsible for the Premium SMS content service.

Under his leadership, Hubtel became one of the top three content providers in Ghana. During his time with Hubtel, he has held several important positions, such as Country Marketing Manager and Head of Customer Support.

“We are delighted to receive this award, it reflects the hard work and dedication of the whole team,” said Elsie Bram. Being recognized by the industry is a great honor and we will continue to strive for excellence in driving innovation in the financial technology sector in Ghana,” he added.

Augustine Adjei, Head of Engineering, and Nana Owusu Marfo, Head of User Experience & Marketing, also expressed their happiness at being recognized for their contribution to the platform and user experience at Hubtel as Hubtel received Fintech Platform of the Year and UI/UX. Fintech Company of the Year Award, respectively.

His work has been instrumental in delivering a user-friendly platform that has been widely celebrated by the industry.
