Instructions:
1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of the cooking water, and set aside.
2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or cooked beef stripes and cook, turning it with a spoon, until it is browned and cooked through about 5-7 minutes.
3. Add Aromatics: Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is softened. Add the minced garlic and bell peppers, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Season and Simmer: Stir in the tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavours to meld together.
5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the beef sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add some of the reserved cooking water to thin it out and help the sauce cling to it. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
6 Serve: Once the pasta is heated through and coated evenly with the sauce, remove the skillet from the heat. Serve it hot, with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves if desired.
