How Police Officers Disguise As Prostitutes To Help Arrest Criminals – Dampare Details | Social

The Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare has announced that his administration will fight crime while ensuring discipline in the service.

Speaking at a durbar with police officers in the Bono Regional Capital on Friday, Dr Dampare said his government had adopted and implemented various intelligence gathering efforts such as using some policewomen dressed as prostitutes as bait.

This he noted has led to a reduction in crime across the country.

“Some of them include some women, we use them as bait – they dress up as prostitutes that everyone doesn’t know… the lowest level of magic? Do you know what we’ve done? If we tell, it will be horrible,” he said in a Myjoyonline.com report.

On the issue of discipline in the service, Dr Dampare said his government is also waging a non-discriminatory war against indiscipline which has so far resulted in the arrest and prosecution of 18 policemen for various traffic offences.

“We are not interested in arrests, we feel very uncomfortable arresting people because sometimes we are the ones who are arrested.

“When we started this policy to bring discipline throughout the country, as many as 18 Police officers have been arrested and put in court for many traffic violations,” he said.
He noted that the police administration under his watch has been committed to rewarding hard work, performance and dedication.

“For all these ideas, we are people who know our rights and why is this person promoted and not promoted when there is a law? It means you don’t read – go and read your CI.

“What you need to know is that something that has never happened before and the kind of promotion that can be done for some people at headquarters and others, we change … for this project, recognize them as long as they are two years in the ranks, we will promote them,” the IGP said.
