
Twitter has been abuzz after food blogger, Zubaida A-Rahman posted a plate of Angwa mo priced at GH¢170.
Following the post, there were mixed reactions among Twitter users regarding the price.
Some think it’s expensive, some think otherwise.
Meanwhile, this is how to prepare a simple Ghanaian Angwa mo.
1 cup fragrant white rice
3 oz. salted beef (toolo beef), diced (recipe below)
2 onions, chopped (cut in half)
1 cube of Maggi chicken broth
- For salted beef (beef toolo)
3 oz. beef (sirloin or rib eye)
In a plastic or glass container with a lid, add the beef and sprinkle with sea salt.
Rub the beef with salt, then add the bay leaves.
Cover the container and put it in a warm place for 24 hours.
Remove the blood and cover the container again and put it in a warm place for another 24 hours.
Wash rice, wash and dry.
In a pan, heat the oil and fry the chopped onion in hot oil until golden brown.
Take half of the onion and set aside.
Add salted beef and mix well.
Add the rice and fry on medium heat for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the bouillon cubes and stir. Add hot pepper and mix.
Add water and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add the remaining onion and cook for another 5 minutes.
Cover and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
