A Magistrate’s Court in Kano on Wednesday convicted the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives in a correctional facility, Ado Doguwa, over alleged involvement in the killing of three members of the constituency.
The police in Kano arrested and charged Mr. Doguwa, along with others, for criminal conspiracy, and culpable homicide.
He was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm, causing harm by fire, and causing a nuisance.
The magistrate, Ibrahim Yola, adjourned the MP until March 7 to hear the bail application.
The lawmaker was reportedly involved in a violent confrontation between members of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) which resulted in the killing of three persons and the burning of the campaign office of the opposition party in Tudun Wada Kano Local Government.

Mr. Doguwa, who is seeking re-election to represent the Tudun Wada federal constituency, Doguwa, reportedly came to the forum to refute allegations of annulment of the results brought about by the crisis.
