Madonna and Michael Jackson caused a stir in 1991 when the Material Girl was seen channeling Marilyn Monroe with an Old Hollywood-inspired fur stole and red lip combo.
Flash forward to the early 2000s and we were treated like that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck (2003) and Beyoncé and Jay-Z (2005) shows off the power couple (and the richest list-worthy!) Status on the red carpet.
Hollywood’s cutest couple never disappoints on the red carpet. In 2019, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet appearing in colorful pink Fendi ensembles. Then, in 2020, Kelly Ripa walked the carpet in a gorgeous Kristen Siriano gown, with your gorgeous husband Mark Consuelos in the arm.
But it’s not all romance. Some of the sweetest couples came in the form of Oscar nominees who brought their parents along for the special occasion.
Gwyneth Paltrow won the Best Actress award in 1999 with her father Bruce by her side. The year before, Affleck and his friends Good Will Hunting screenwriter Matt Damon bring mothers as dates. In 2018, Timothée Chalametwho was nominated for best actor, brought his mother as a plus 1!
Oh, and then there was the time Jackie Chan appeared with two panda stuffed animals to raise awareness for conservation.
Some stars have taken the opportunity to show their official relationship to the world. Take Paulina Porizkova and Aaron Sorkin, for example. The couple looks forward to making love to all of Hollywood at the 2021 Oscars.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, who married in May 2022, made his Oscar debut at the annual ceremony the previous March. The Blink-182 drummer performed with his band “All-Star” during the broadcast after walking the red carpet with his fiancee.
