Asante Kotoko laboured to secure a 2-1 win over Future Stars FC on Wednesday afternoon in their Round 64 tie of this season’s MTN FA Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors lifted the FA Cup last season and are hoping to successfully defend the title this season.

In the game against Future Stars FC, Asante Kotoko suffered an early scare when the team conceded after just nine minutes into the first half.

Fortunately, the Reds managed to turn things around in the second half, with goals from Hubert Gyau and Peter Amidu Acquah propelling Karim Zito’s side to secure a 2-1 comeback victory.

With the win over Future Stars FC, Asante Kotoko are through to the Round 32 stage of this season’s FA Cup, and will fancy their chances of emerging as champions heading forward.
