Heritage Caravan: We’ll choose Ghana over an English holiday every March
Some Citi TV / Citi FM Heritage Caravan subscribers have vowed not to choose a holiday in the UK over Ghana every year in March because of the exciting programs they experienced during the recently concluded Heritage Caravan.
For 6 years, the 2023 edition of Citi FM/TV’s Heritage Caravan is the fastest selling road trip.
All 44-seater three Intercity State Transport buses are full, but the call to join the trip does not stop.
In about two months, sponsors came on board in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority to give revelers a memory of a lifetime.
DAY 1
On Saturday, March 4, 2023, approximately 156 customers, including staff selected from Read TV / Read FM gathered at the grounds of Citi TV in Tesano in Okaikoi North Municipality at around 4am to start the activities for the road trip.

Sponsors are in the number who bring gifts to customers for 7 days.
After registering the customer with a tag, hot kenkey is served with another English breakfast as an alternative.

The excitement on their faces was telling. The bus eventually left for Amedzofe in the Volta Region where they visited Mount Gemi, which is more than 2,200 feet above sea level, the highest peak of human habitation in Ghana.
The view over the mountains is breathtaking, and the greenery is rich in oxygen, giving a different breath from the smog in many parts of Accra.

The crowd at the installation of the new canopy walkway was huge. Students from all levels and many institutions, including Ghana Port Authority staff, all joined the adventure.
Patrons at Karavan Warisan suffered heavy invitations and finally made it to the canopy walk.
Feelings, according to caravanites worth the loss of energy.

Packed food is available on each bus for visitors.
The journey to the next destination, Bolgatanga, in the Upper East Region takes about 12 hours.
The first stop is at the Paradise Rest stop in the Eastern Region, which has prepared all the local food for the caravanite through the order of the advance team that leads about 2 hours ahead.
The next stop is at Favor Restaurant in Tamale, where the opposite is small despite the same guarantee for the advance team.
The sharp contrast in temperatures from 18 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius forces the caravanite to adapt.
The heat is piecing the skin, and it also weakens the moisture so quickly that when Voltic mineral water, one of the sponsors hydrated everyone.
After hours, the people of Bolgatanga, especially Ghanass Hotel, gave us a warm reception with a rich cultural display.
The caravans came to the chief of Paga. The lively dancers in the ware palace are good to see.

The leader called on the management of Citi TV / Citi FM to use their influence to ask the government to create a significant symbol on the Ghana-Burkina Faso border to demarcate the right side of the border that will inform travelers when crossing.
The caravan took pictures with crocodiles in the Paga pond and was also allowed by border immigration to Burkina Faso.

Day 4
The night before was too short. Customers wake up at 4am to get ready for another 12 hours on the road.
Bono’s territory is the destination. Next stop is Mole National Park, Ghana’s largest natural habitat for elephants and ants located in the Savanna region.
Safari is very adventurous. Seeing animals living freely is a joy. Many rated customers saw the giant elephant as one of the highlights of the trip.
“We do not import animals into this park. They are allowed to find their own food,” explained the tour guide. Even when they mistreat each other, we do not interfere, he added.

The Managing Director of Citi FM/TV in his speech touched on the fact that the trip had no profit motive. He believes tourism is a “low-hanging fruit” that the government can use to accelerate development. The event was changed from six days to seven days. Some visitors dive into the pool afterwards.
Day 6
The morning was easy enough. After breakfast, many people walk and take selfies in the park and on the beach.
The bus leaves Atuabo at 11 in the morning for Sekondi.
Citi FM/TV loyalists have provided a buffet lunch with branded band for the caravans. The second time Mr. and Mrs. Nkumsah hosted 150 caravans at their house in the mountains, around the port of Takoradi.
There is enough to drink and eat. Vice Chancellor of Methodist University, Prof. Bondzi-Sinpson Ebo spoke on behalf of the family.
He likes to host a crowd. He urged the organizers of the trip to consider doing this twice a year to give families the opportunity to join their children in giving the true meaning of heritage.
But Citi FM/TV MD Samuel Attah-Mensah points out that the tourism and hospitality infrastructure is not enough to meet this amount, especially for children.
At each point, the caravanites show different dance formations to please the senses.
Some people have an equal share in their birthday celebrations when they are showered with water.
The caravan moved to the Ridge Royal Hotel in Cape Coast.
Another night of clubbing after dinner into the wee hours of the morning.
Day 7
The caravan left Ridge Royal at 11am for the Assin Manso Slave River. The history is told of how our forefathers and mothers endured the cruelty, inhumanity, and wickedness of the colonial rulers to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
The river and its surroundings were the last places where slaves bathed before being sold. The shocking story caused many emotional caravans.
