
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued an alert for heatwave conditions in Dawid Kruiper and Kai !Garib Local Municipalities of the Northern Cape from Thursday to Sunday.
“In these conditions, direct sunlight poses a health risk, so it’s best to seek shade and stay hydrated,” the weather service said on Tuesday.
A very high fire danger situation is expected through Dawid Kruiper, Kai !Garib, Kamiesberg Local Municipality in the Northern Cape as well as Naledi Local Municipality in the North West on Wednesday.

Gauteng: The morning is foggy in places in the south, partly cloudy and warm. Expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme.
east: Morning fog patches along the escarpment and the Highveld area, used to be partly cloudy and cool to warm but cloudy in the east with a chance of light rain and rain.
Limpopo: Morning fog in places along the escarpment, used to be partly cloudy and warm but cloudy in the east with isolated rain and rain, including the northern part.

Northwest: Fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the east with morning mist.
Free State: Fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the east with morning mist.
Northern Cape: The weather is fine and warm to very hot, but cool to warm on the coast with moderate east on the south coast but fresh to strong from south to south-east on the west and south-west.
Western Cape: Good and cool to warm but hot weather in places through the interior of the West Coast District. The wind on the coast will be fresh in the south. Expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme.
Western Half of the Eastern Cape: The weather is nice and warm. Winds along the coast: Light from the north, becoming moderate from the south-east in the evening.
Eastern Half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy in places south of the escarpment at first, otherwise fine and warm but partly cloudy on the coast. Winds along the coast: light from the north, but fresh to the northeast from the morning.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog with a chance of drizzle in the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool but warm in the north. Isolated rain and showers are expected in the extreme east and north.
Winds along the coast will be light to moderate from south to southeast in the north, if not moderate to fresh from east to northeast. Desirable UVB sunburn index: High.
