Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans have been asking the same question for some time now:
Who the hell gave Heather Gay a black eye?
Remember, this season, Heather woke up with a black eye and scratches on her body. It’s a mystery. And viewers have their own theories.
Now that the Reunion is here, it’s time for real questions — and real answers.

Many viewers felt frustrated when Heather Gay refused to give a straight answer about her minor but worrying injury.
And many castmates felt the same. There is no resolution.
Meanwhile, online speculation suggests that Jen Shah could be the culprit. The two have clashed. And one can imagine that Heather could have kept quiet – not wanting to make Jen’s bad situation worse.

Obviously, when Reunion started airing this week, we heard Andy Cohen ask Heather.
According to him, he “blacked out” and did not know what was happening.
“I wish you had said that now because it caused so much damage,” commented Lisa Barlow.

He indicated that production (very resourcefully) launched an investigation into the injury.
“There was an investigation that found nothing,” Andy confirmed to viewers.
“And no additional footage,” he said, “or it would have been shown.”

Heather admits she “woke up terrified”. But that’s not the attitude he shows to others. It seemed, during the episode, he knew how he got a black eye and did not see it as a big problem.
Heather explained that she described it that way because she felt “scared that she would rewrite the narrative” if she didn’t.
He added: “If I say I don’t know, they can say whatever they want and I’m scared.” That sounds scary.

But Lisa pushed back, saying Heather refused to show “anyone affected by the production who was late with us.”
“And then,” he continued, “it looks like he did it to you.”
Heather explained that she spoke to the producers honestly – admitting that she didn’t know.

“When production came to my room, I said, ‘I don’t know. I have no memory,'” Heather recalled.
“And then it got out of control,” he added. “I take full responsibility.”
Heather said, “I’m sorry. It’s humiliating. I don’t want to black out, I don’t want to be drunk and black out and have no memory. It’s scary.”

There is also an element of religious trauma in Heather’s story. He is an LDS survivor.
Heather explained to the group that, as a former Mormon, she still feels “shameful” about drinking.
Andy had bigger concerns. She said her injuries looked like someone had “attacked” her.

“I woke up in a very high stress situation with a lot of shame and humiliation, there was no way to hide it,” Heather said.
“I went to my thing, which was just humor, so it could disappear. And it didn’t disappear,” he cried.
Heather insisted: “I definitely don’t want to involve anyone here, anyone in the production, it’s my fault and I’m embarrassed that I can’t explain.”

Heather never put on her best behavior to “implicate” Jen. However, he told them before he told his other friends.
He explained that this was because he “trusted them the most… because they make up a cover story when you’re black and have black eyes.”
Whitney Rose pointed out a fatal flaw in the plan. Because many people think that Jen played a role in the injury.

As Andy hinted, Heather could not say with certainty from her own memory that Jen was not behind the wounds.
But Heather said she and Jen joke about it. And when it comes down to it, he prefers people like Jen to harass him over strangers.
Finally, Heather admitted: “I don’t know. That’s why I don’t want to have this question, because I don’t know. I’m dark.”

Andy also immediately brought up a fan theory that Heather could be covering for a friend who is already facing serious prison time.
“If I knew it was Jen, I would have covered it up. But that wasn’t my intention. I passed out,” Heather replied. “I thought someone here knew.”
He added: “It was a horrible black eye that took 10 days. It didn’t look like it fell on a doorknob, it didn’t even have a doorknob.

“I believe he had an accident and didn’t remember, he died. Or Jen hit him,” Whitney speculated.
Angie K also admitted that she suspected an accident or Jen. In the latter case, it is his behavior.
“Jen was inactive and absent the next day. She was very quiet, to herself, she called often,” Angie recalled.
“And then the production asked Heather at the Greek dinner what happened to your eyes,” Angie continued.
He recounted: “Jen looked at him calmly and said, ‘What are you going to say?'”
According to Angie K, it gave her a “dark feeling” that Jen knew something no one else knew.
Andy ends the Reunion episode by bringing up Angie’s more specific theory.
Turns out they had discussed the idea, and wondered if the injury would come from something less violent…but still involving Jen.
Angie said, “I was talking to a few people and they said, have you ever heard about Heather and Jen having sex?”
That seems a bit far-fetched. Although good sex can result in some very good, memorable signs.
Black eyes can result from some world-shaking (consensual!) sex, but … rarely.
But…the hookup between Heather and Jen seems like it’s coming. Despite the former name.
