Hearts of Oak beat Berekum Chelsea thanks to a late goal
Hearts of Oak secured an important 3-1 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The game was marked by several goals, all scored after the 80th minute.
Defender Zakaria Fuseini scored an unfortunate own goal in the 82nd minute to put Hearts of Oak ahead. This was followed by Benjamin York’s goal in the 87th minute, which doubled the lead for Hearts of Oak.
Berekum Chelsea managed to pull one back through striker Kusi Pandrous in the 92nd minute, but the effort was in vain as Victor Aidoo sealed Hearts of Oak’s victory with a third goal in the 93rd minute.
The win for Hearts of Oak ended a two-game winless run, which saw them drop out of the top four in the standings.
With the win, Hearts of Oak are now back in second place, but could still lose a place depending on the outcome of their other matches on Sunday.
