Harry Kane told Sky Sports “Miracle” became Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer, while Heung-Min Son backed him to break the Premier League record as well.
Kane’s match-winning strike to beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was his 267th for the club, breaking Jimmy Greaves’ record, which had stood for more than 50 years.
In doing so, he also scored his 200th Premier League goal – becoming the fastest player in the league’s 31-year history, two games short of previous record holder Alan Shearer.
Talk to Sky Sports In what was a historic evening for himself, Kane said he never dreamed of reaching such a milestone at the start of his career, adding to his delight in the goal situation against the Premier League title holders.
“It was a magical moment. I was desperate to do it with a win – if we went up 1-0 it was about a clean sheet,” he said.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte missed the win against Manchester City due to surgery but was sure to congratulate Harry Kane as the striker became his record goalscorer.
“To do it in front of the fans is a special moment. There’s a lot of talk about it, I just want to finish it. So, to do it in a big match against one of the best teams in the world is special.
“When I started playing regularly, it wasn’t in my imagination to score 200 goals in the Premier League. To be there now is exciting and I have a few years left, so there will be a few more.”
Kane’s strike moves him to eighth behind Wayne Rooney in the Premier League’s top scorers list, and is now just 60 off record holder Alan Shearer.
Team-mate Heung-Min Son, who has been part of many of Kane’s goals in the seven years the pair have been together at the club, has backed his team-mates to surpass the Newcastle legend before his career ends.

He told me Sky Sports: “Everyone is very happy for him. He deserves it more than anyone else. He works hard and plays for the team.

“Shearer and Kane are very similar in terms of belief, mentality and unbreakable steel – I think the word steel comes to mind when I think of Shearer and Kane. You think what Harry went through six weeks ago clearly with the World Cup in Qatar and he obviously put the ball over the bar.
“It was probably the worst moment for Harry Kane, but actually he was the best player for it because he recovered from a strong mentality.
“Harry will continue for many years. He said on the pitch that he never thought he would get this tally, but he still has a few good years, he looks after himself, he is a great professional and he will always score goals .This is the last thing that leaves that type of person.
