McCarthy, in a tweet on FridayIt claimed that Bragg was seeking political revenge against the former president and called on the “relevant” committee to look into the use of federal funds for investigations related to Trump.
Jeffries, when former White House press secretary Jen Psaki showed MSNBC new, said that he did not agree with McCarthy and assumed that the speaker was referring to the House Weaponization of the Federal Government subcommittee that has held several dramatic hearings since its inception.
″[It’s] it’s actually more appropriately named, the Committee to Protect the Rebels,” Jeffries said.
He added: “Instead of the House majority focusing on the economy, [inflation, job creation and health care,] they continue to peddle conspiracy theories led by the so-called weaponization committee and oversight committee, as opposed to trying to find common ground with House Democrats to try to make life better for everyday Americans. But we will continue to prioritize politics.
Jeffries later praised the weaponization committee top Democrat Stacey Plaskett for pushing back against the MAGA Republicans, however, which is reflected in having a “positive, forward-looking” relationship with McCarthy in the future.
“That does not mean that we will not strongly disagree with each other as we have about the former twice impeached president of the United States,” he said.
“But we can agree to disagree without disagreeing…”
