Well, we think it’s safe to say that Hailie Mathers had a weekend to remember!
Eminem’s daughter announced on Monday that she is engaged to her boyfriend Evan McClintock!
Clearly, Hailie did not inherit her father’s talent for the dramatic, because she announced the news in a very rude way:
“A relaxing weekend recap…” the 27-year-old influencer captioned a carousel of proposal photos.
“2.4.23 I love you @evanmcclintock11,” she added.
Hailey and Evan were immediately inundated with congratulations, but some commenters wondered what Slim Shady thought of his future son-in-law.
Unfortunately, the hip hop icon has yet to publicly comment on his daughter’s engagement, so we don’t know what he thinks.
But Em has mellowed a lot in middle-age, and he and Hailey have always enjoyed a very close relationship.
So Marshall probably approved of this new development in his beloved daughter’s life.
But even though Evan is dealing with a kinder, gentler Eminem than the one we knew in the ’90s, asking for Pop’s blessing is probably a pretty daunting task.
If you’re a fan of the elder Mathers’ music, then we don’t need to tell you that Hailey is more famous than the rapper’s girls.
That’s mostly because he’s famous for his lyrics, but also because he’s carved a career for himself as a popular influencer with over 3 million followers.
Hailey’s millions of online fans first met Evan last year, when he appeared on Hailey’s Valentine’s Day post.
But when he went public recently, Evan reportedly dated Hailey since 2016.
Despite the massive web presence, Hailey does a good job of protecting her privacy, a fact she acknowledged in June when she shared a second photo of Evan (below).
“I rarely share my feed,” she captioned the photo, “but when I do, I like you.”
Em may not have talked about Hailie’s engagement yet, but she often talks about how proud she is of her firstborn daughter.
He most recently boasted proudly during an interview on Mike Tyson’s podcast.
Em told the boxing champion how impressed he was with Hailie’s accomplishments, especially graduating from college with honors.
“He made me proud for sure,” he said at the time.
“It’s important to keep your kids safe when you’re in a situation like mine,” Em said.
“People also think that money only buys happiness – which is not true. You have to be inside, otherwise there is nothing.
