At Gwyneth Paltrow try a ski accident go wild, guys!
As previously reported, in January 2019 the actress was charged with a multi-million dollar lawsuit due to a skiing accident that occurred three years earlier in 2016. Shakespeare In Love star takes skiing lessons in time with her instructor Eric Christiansen in a ski-only resort Deer Valley in Park City, Utah. According to a retired optometrist Terry Sanderson‘s suit, Gwyneth was “out of control” in the beginner who ran green and crashed into someone from behind. The lawsuit further alleges that the incident left him with a “brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries.”
Sanderson’s friend and daughter took the stand yesterday and explained his injuries – with him saying he is not the same person he was before because the brain injury “changed” him. Yeesh…

But it’s not the only injury in the dispute – it’s the response. In the claims setting Avengers actress “get up, turn and ski away, leave [Sanderson] shocked, lying in the snow.” Harsh! And his instructor Christiansen allegedly took his side in the matter and “failed to send help, as he was required to do, and then filed a false report to protect the client.” Sanderson maintained that he had no choice but to take the matter went to court afterwards Goop the founder refused to take responsibility for the collision.
But if y’all think it’s a scandal, everything just went from zero to 60 when Gwyneth took a stand there. We’re not kidding, what they say will leave your jaw on the floor!
First of all, the Glee alum said he did not ski to the now-76-year-old, but the other way – Sanderson crashed into him. That’s what many of us are looking forward to. But what he said next that our jaws on the floor. He testified in court that he was really afraid at that time – because he was afraid that he would try to attack him:
“Is this someone who did something wrong? I’m trying to piece together what happened behind me.
The reason he thought Sanderson was “losing his mind,” he said, was because he felt his leg between his legs as he fell to the ground and he made a “groaning” sound:
“He made a strange noise that sounded like a boy and he was big, so I thought he was a boy. I was confused at first because it was so strange that it happened on the ski slope. I became very upset a few seconds later. Someone pushed me and he made a groaning sound. I didn’t know, is this a practical joke or is someone doing something wrong?”
A tangle of limbs? A cry of pain? It seems pretty expected with a ski collision – which itself can not be all that unusual in the beginner’s course … If the mind immediately jumps to the sexual ambush from that, when they are fully bundled in the snow mountain – we’re not sure what to say more about he or something in the world terrifies us.
Even if it’s true, if that’s the initial thought, what’s the point of showing it now? Are they just trying to answer honestly? Or is he trying to vilify the plaintiff by presenting him as a “pervert” who tried to grope him?? If the jury sees this as a veiled attempt to undermine Sanderson, it could backfire on Gwyneth spectacularly. Just saying…

Gwyneth went on to say that she remembers screaming at Sanderson during the crash, saying, “You ran right into my back!” to which she believed he replied “Oh, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” She admitted that she didn’t remember asking the optometrist if it was okay, and that she left her instructor to “handle” the situation as she headed down the slopes to meet her daughter, Appleunder.
At Shallow things The actress defended not asking about Sanderson after the fact, saying:
“When you are the victim of an accident, your psychology is not to think about the person who did it. At that time, I did not know that he had such an injury – I felt very small that day.
“Accident victim”. Sorry, we have to talk again. When you’re on a beginner’s slope, you have to assume there’s going to be a crash, right? Whomever you meet or meet you, isn’t it just polite to make sure everyone is okay? We’re talking about people in their 60s who allegedly didn’t wake up right away. We have to wonder what the jurors will do in his defense given their lack of compassion for his alleged injuries…
Gwyneth continued to impugn the eyewitnesses Craig Ramontestimony – said that he did not see him that day and was not sure that he was there:
“I don’t believe he saw it. I don’t believe he saw what he thought he saw. He said he was 40ft away and color blind. I don’t know how he can be positive about what he saw, given the distance. Mr. Sanderson categorized hit me on the ski slopes.
He asked Ramon’s claims that he asked him if he was okay after the accident, and also took issue with the statement that Sanderson was unconscious for “one to two minutes” after that. When Sanderson’s lawyer replied “that’s what you believe,” Gwyneth retorted:
“Because it’s the truth.”
He really doubled down on this! After being caught lying, no less – apparently he tried to deny that he was watching his son Moses ski next to him when the accident happened, but the ski instructor spilled the beans! He then changed his original denial and said:
“I can still watch my children skiing and someone slides right into my back and it happens. My daughter is going down the mountain and my son is on my left, I am skiing and my eyes are not only on Moses.”
Not only to Moses. But he watched her. They distracted. Hmm…
Is it just us, or is Gwyneth digging a hole for herself? We’re not lawyers, so maybe we’re way off base. But hey, check it out for yourself! You can watch more of Gwyneth’s testimony (below):
This is going to be a real mess and it’s only the fourth day! We wonder how Apple and Moses will testify on the stand… Reaction, Perezcious readers?
