Guber poll: Igbo communities in Lagos endorse PDP candidate | The Guardian Nigeria News

Less than a week to the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections, the Igbo Community in Lagos State on Saturday officially endorsed the PDP Governorship Candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran and his running mate, Ms Funke Akindele.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ndigbo leaders announced their support for Adediran at an event marked “Igbo Community in Lagos Official Endorsement of Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (aka Jandor).

Eze David Nwosu, Eze NdIgbo, Ikorodu Northf, who spoke on behalf of the Council of Ezes Ndigbo and the Igbo Community in Lagos State at the endorsement in Oshodi-Isolo area, said the Igbos have declared their support for Adediran.

Nwosu, who raised Adediran’s hand together with other Ezes, succinctly said, “The NdIgbo Ezes and the Igbo community in Lagos State approve of Jandor.”

Responding, Adediran, who described the Governorship war as God’s war, expressed confidence that with the support of the people, the state will celebrate independence on March 11.

“This battle is beyond the physical. By this time next week, we will all be out of the government that is suppressing us. The battle before us is going out en masse to vote.

“When he (APC) has a godfather, Jandor remains with God the Father, we will call him and believe that he will hear our cry.

“The days of APC in Lagos are numbered. Next week we will end our existence in Lagos. Please, don’t make mistakes.

“Remove the votes that I am ready to protect. I am ready to deploy conventional and unconventional security for next Saturday’s election,” he said.
