A youth-based socio-political group in 15 wards in Odogbolu Council of Ogun State, the Fìtílà Movement, yesterday, endorsed the re-election bid of Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
The group also pledged to support APC candidates in the upcoming general elections. This was disclosed during the unveiling of campaign materials by APC candidates. The coordinator of the group, Ladejobi Shuaib, said it is important to sensitize people about the achievements of the party at the state and national levels, adding that approving all APC candidates from the president to the state House of Assembly is important for the development of the state.
Shuaib, who is the chairman of Odogbolu Council, said the victory of Tinubu and Abiodun will boost the economy and ensure local government autonomy.
On his part, the group’s media coordinator, Mogaji Tunde, said the implementation of ISEYA Abiodun’s agenda since he assumed office has set the country on the road to development.
“The inclusive government has won an almost unopposed contest in Ogun State. This has given other APC candidates in the state a smooth ride to win all elective positions in the 2023 general election.
“We are clamoring and working for Tinubu the President because of his track record as a former governor of Lagos. The impact cannot be denied or ignored, because the template is still widely used and the success of Lagos is open for all to see. We are ready and prepared to deliver and support the APC so that we can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy in Odogbolu, and Nigeria in general.
On his part, the group’s Director of Monitoring and Evaluation said all APC candidates have a track record of achievements.
“Governor Abiodun continues to distribute the dividend of democracy to all wards in Odogbolu. He has provided infrastructure and road construction including, Ijebu Ode-Epe, Ibefun-Itokin-Ikorodu, Ilesan-Ijebu Ijesha-Ago-Iwoye road, and others.
“He has renovated the public health center, built and renovated several public schools both primary and secondary, upgraded from the College of Education to the University of Education, Science and Technology and several welfare programs that have continued to improve our lives in Odogbolu.”
