Govt And Organised Labour Agree On 30% Base Pay On Single Spine | General News

The Basic Pay in the Single Single Salary Structure (SSSS) has been increased by 30 percent for the financial year 2023.

The increase will take effect on January 1, 2023.

This agreement follows a government meeting with Organized Labor on Thursday, January 12

Speaking to the media after the meeting of the Minister of Labour, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah said: “The basic salary has been increased by 30% for the financial year 2023… As I said this ends the COLA 2022 15% of the basic salary.”

Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Yaw Baah has said “thank you to the government for giving 30% increase in basic salary for 2023 for public sector workers. We are happy that it was done peacefully today. 30% although it is not what we wanted, it will create an opportunity for us to speak the language one to work together.
