GOP Senator Spills On The Illegal Measure He Takes To Deal With DC Crime Fears

Mullin went on to stress that he’s “not joking” about riding around in his Jeep without buckling up.

“And the reason why I don’t buckle up — and people can say whatever they want to, they can raise their eyebrows at me, again — is because of carjacking,” he said.

“I don’t want to be stuck in my vehicle when I need to exit in a hurry because I got a seat belt around me. And I wear my seat belt all the time but in Washington, D.C., I do not because it is so prevalent of carjacking.”

He continued, “And I don’t want the same thing happen to me what’s happened to a lot of people that work on The Hill.”

On Monday, President Donald Trump spouted false claims about the crime rate in Washington, which he described as “totally out of order” as he announced his plans to take control of D.C.’s police force and deploy National Guard troops to the nation’s capital.

Trump’s crime presser arrived just days after two teens were arrested in connection with an attempted carjacking and beating of Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, a prominent figure in the president’s Department of Government Efficiency.
