GOP Gov. Chris Sununu Makes 2024 Guarantee About Donald Trump, But With A Twist

Sununu, himself a potential Republican presidential candidate, told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” there is no way Trump will be the party’s 2024 nominee.

“Look, Donald Trump is not going to be the nominee,” Sununu told Mika Brzezinski.

Sununu repeatedly insisted that it was too early in the race and that it was just “not the case” for Trump. “We just want to say thank you for your service and let’s move on,” he added.

However, when Brzezinski pressed Sununu on how he would vote if “lightning strikes twice” and Trump secures the nomination, the governor admitted that he would go back to the former president who was impeached twice.

“Of the former president and myself, one of us is a lifelong Republican and one of us will support the Republican nominee,” he said.

“But he’s a Republican for life?” he replied.

“Not. This is me, Mika,” answered Sununu.
