Former Managing Director/CEO Polaris BankMr. Innocent C. Ike, has been honored for his contribution to the development of the game of Golf in Nigeria.
Mr. Ike was recently honored by the Nigerian golfing community at a two-day invitational cat labeled the Innocent C. Ike Classic, held at the Lakowe Lakes Golf Resort, Lagos, Nigeria.
On the first day of the tournament, the lady golfers were locked horns, while the second day featured male golfers squaring off for the coveted prize among several categories.
The 18-hole classic attracts more than 150 amateur and professional golfers and is an unprecedented carnival of fun, reunions and energy.
The highlight of this event is the presentation of prizes to the winners of various categories. Mohammed Suleiman was the overall winner in the Men’s Category, while Tim Ayomike was the 2nd runner-up. Sadiq Edu won the longest trophy in the Men’s category.
Polaris Bank Golfer and Ambassador Maryanne Udoka won the Women’s Handicap (19-36) category with a Net score of 68, while Candy Agu won the Handicap (0-18) category. Mrs. Sila Ojo became the longest winner in the Women’s category.
The event was filled with messages of praise and commendation by Nigerians from all walks of life.
Expressing happiness over the donation from Mr. Ike, the Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and the President of the Nigerian Golf Federation, (NGF) Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, commended him for setting standards for Nigerian companies. imitate. One of the highest ranked golfers in Nigeria, Sunday Olapade of Ikoyi Golf Club Nigeria, has thanked the former MD/CEO for supporting Professional Golfers in the country.
