Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon addressed viewers who questioned his style choices and responded to fans accusing the show of ‘colorism.’
This season in The Real Housewives of PotomacMany viewers have asked friends for treatment Wendy Osefo in the middle of her drama with Mia Thornton, who threw a drink in her face. After the scene aired, Wendy called out her fan base for being less angry and seemed to suggest that color was a factor.
In an interview with The RootGizelle and Robyn were asked about their controversial style choices.
“I dress for me. I decorate my house,” replied Gizelle. “That’s all I can say.”
Robyn added, “I mean, I want to say, I just have a simpler style. So, you know… I just choose to be a little understated and simple. She and Gizelle shared that they don’t spend “hours” in front of the glam to get ready filming, like some Bravo friends.
“I don’t have time for that,” said Gizelle, before Robyn called her castmates The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsadmit “half the time” they are in full glam during the cast journey.
“It’s like glam so many parts [that cast’s] life that is being filmed in glam, because they spend a lot of time in glam,” said Robyn, insinuating that she and Gizelle chose not to spend time like that.
When asked about the ‘colorism’ conversation, Robyn explained that it was a discussion not take place in the event, only in “social media.”
Although Gizelle says that people are “duh” for their own opinions, she “gets it[s]”It’s “not like that” on the show, and added, “I don’t know.”
Robyn points out she doesn’t “read what people say” online, although she does notice.
“I didn’t know where it was coming from when I watched the show,” Robyn said.
