GI-KACE To Host FEMITECH Conference On International Womens Day | General News

On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2023, the Ghana India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT is set to host the Females In Tech Conference (FEMITECH) to bring together women in the technology industry and celebrate their achievements.

The FEMITECH conference focuses on female technology practitioners and aspiring women in Tech. The conference aims to inspire and empower women in this industry and create a supportive community to help them achieve their goals.

Speakers at the conference included Fatoumata Doro- MD for Vilsco Ghana Group, Ing. Dr. Lucy Agyepong -Associate Dean of Engineering, Academic City University College, Suzanne Diop, Nestle’s Head of Business Services For Sub Saharan Africa, and keynote speech by the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

According to Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, Director of Corporate Affairs and Media Relations at the Ghana India Kofi Annan ICT Center, women have been breaking barriers and pushing boundaries in technology for centuries, but still, women are underrepresented in technology.

“At the Females in Tech Conference, we’re bringing together women from all over the tech industry to share their stories and experiences. We’ll discuss a variety of topics, from leadership and career development to diversity and inclusion. There will also be networking opportunities, allowing women to connect and learn skills new.” He added

The event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Communications & Digitalization and the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), will be held in the Kofi Annan ICT Center auditorium in front of the State Council near the Parliament house will inspire a new generation of women in tech.

The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), is an institution under the Ministry of Communications and Digitization tasked with providing training, consultancy, research and development in the field of ICT and electronics. For more than two decades, the center has provided specialized training to various groups and helped organizations improve performance and productivity.
