Ghanaian youngster Bernard Somuah included in Celta Vigo first team for pre-season friendly against SC Braga

Ghanaian forward Bernard Somuah has been named in Celta Vigo’s squad for their first pre-season ahead of the new campaign for the friendly against SC Braga in Portugal. 

The 20-year-old former Asante Kotoko player impressed first team coach Claudio Giráldez, who included him in the 25-man list for the game at the Estadi Municipal de Braga. 

Somuah has been in sensational form for the reserve side since joining on an initial loan deal, before securing a permanent contract.

He helped Celta Foruna to a successful run last season, which saw him ink a four-year deal.

The talented winger is expected to fight for a place in the senior side ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with the pre-season an opportunity to showcase his skills to Giraldez.

Celta will face SC Braga on Saturday July 18 before matches against Real Sporting, Academico de Viseu,

Matches against Sassuolo and Napoli will follow before the start of the new La Liga season.
