Ghana tops West African countries in 2022 Digital Competitiveness Index
Ghana is the leader of Anglophone West Africa with a score of 66.0% in the 2022 digital competitiveness index, according to the Digital Foundation Africa survey
According to the survey, Ghana outperforms other African countries including Cote D’Iovire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger among others, by implementing good policies to improve the digital sector.
The second country is Carbo Verde with 65.5%, followed by Nigeria which ranks third with 65.0%.
Niger, Burkina Faso and Mauritania are the worst digital competitive rankings in West Africa.
A statement issued by the Digital Foundation Africa said, “The index measures, access and rankings carried out by West African countries, which are adopted when using good policies among the use of other digital services when mapping the growth of the digital development sector for socio-economic transformation. “.

The African Digital Foundation is committed to engaging governments and other stakeholders in various countries to help shape the direction and future of the digital sector.
“The ranking will guide ECOWAS countries on their approach in implementation and development
from the digital sector therefore translates how citizens transact and use digital in their daily lives.
Following the release of the index, activities will be held to engage the government and other stakeholders
each country to help guide the direction and future of the digital sector,” the statement said.
