Trump hopes Emily Kohr’s highly-criticized media appearance will exonerate him from prosecution in Georgia, but legal experts say that ultimately won’t affect what DA Fanni Willis does with evidence found by a special grand jury. The jury heard the testimony of 75 witnesses and met the criteria of the judge overseeing the trial. Trump blasted on social media platform Truth Social saying, “This Georgia case is ridiculous, the political continuation of the biggest Witch Hunt of all time, Now you have a very energetic young woman, (get this!) ‘Foreperson’ of the Special Jury Board Racist DA, going around and running a Media Tour revealing, amazing, the work & thoughts of the Grand Jury. Kohr giggled and made faces during several media appearances that Trump’s lawyers cited as reasons to discount the jury’s findings. However, the prosecution who conducted the testimony of the witnesses is said to have acted credibly and the evidence collected was not damaged by Ms. Kohr’s decision to speak. Trump’s lawyers also attacked the jurors’ credibility because prosecutors allowed jurors to watch and read the news but instructed them to keep an open mind.

Calling these special jurors “kangaroos” is a tactic they hope will derail findings of election meddling in “imperfect” calls that solicited votes to overturn Georgia’s election results. Trump and his successor are also criminally liable in a fraudulent voter scheme to steal electoral votes from Joe Biden.
