Georgia Picked to Win 2023 SEC Men’s Tennis Title

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference announced its preseason poll of men’s tennis coaches on Wednesday.

Georgia was picked to finish first in the league. The Bulldogs begin the 2023 season as the No. 1 ranked team. 7 in the ITA Division Preseason Poll. The team is coming off a dominant fall season, collecting 67 singles wins and 20 doubles wins.

Tennessee is a close second with 153 points with Kentucky in third with 146 points. South Carolina totaled 129 points for fourth, Florida was fifth with 122 points, Texas A & M was sixth with 107 points and Auburn landed in seventh with 86 points.

The bottom half of the league saw Mississippi State in eighth with 79 points, Alabama with 62 points for ninth, Ole Miss picked 10th with 46 points, Arkansas at 11th with 42 points, LSU picked 12th with 39 points and Vanderbilt in 13th with 17 points.

The preseason poll is selected by the men’s tennis head coaches at each institution and is based on a 13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote.
