George Santos Told Donors He Produced ‘Spider-Man’ Musical

The hits just keep coming for Rep. George Santos (RN.Y.) – or should we tell a lie.

Bloomberg reported that Santos told some potential donors during his 2022 congressional campaign that he produced the 2011 Broadway musical “Spider-Man: Kill the Dark.”

Assistant Michael Cohl, who actually produced the music, told Bloomberg that Santos is not the producer of the show.

In addition, his name never appeared on the playbills for the show, which he lost Tens of millions of dollars for investors and suffered technical accidents and actor injuries during the run from 2011 to 2014.

HuffPost reached out to the new congressman’s office for comment, but no one immediately responded.

However, the truth-challenging congressman from Long Island has previously and falsely claimed that, among other things, he is Jewish and a descendant of Holocaust survivors, is a volleyball champion at Baruch College and once worked at Goldman Sachs.

Twitter users have their thoughts on Santos’ latest fake news report.

on Thursday, Talking Points Memo posted an audio clip between Santos and Derek Myers, a reporter and prospective staffer whom Santos ultimately decided not to hire.

“I’ve made a bad judgment call, and I’m going to get the consequences of a bad judgment call,” Santos said in the audio, before discussing his affairs with his chief of staff, Charley Lovett

“I was obviously a scumbag and lied to him, just like I lied to everyone else,” Santos said later, referring to Lovett. “And he still forgave me and gave me a second shot, unlike anyone else.”
