Rep. George Santos, Republican of New York whose falsehoods about his background have drawn the interest of both prosecutors and late night comedians, has stopped down from the House committee he was in, according to various reports.
“He felt there was too much drama about the situation, and especially what we were doing to remove it [Rep.] Ilhan Omar [D-Minn.] from the foreign affairs committee,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), according to CNN’s Manu Raju.
Santos was appointed to two of the lowest House committees, the Science, Space and Technology panel and the Small Business Committee.
