Gates Foundation partners Rotary on health | The Guardian Nigeria News

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in partnership with Rotary International, has organized the second leg of the Rotary Family Health Days (RFHA) for the Rotary year to cover 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja from February 2 to 4, 2023.

During a briefing for the program at the Rotary Centre, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, the National Coordinator, RFHA, Bola Oyebade, said the aim of the program was to help Nigerians understand their health status, which many take for granted.

“This program starts today in about 120 locations in the country with 60 locations in Lagos. We are happy to collaborate with Bill & Melinda Gates in their passion to ensure the immunization of children around the world with the goal of eradicating polio.
“Therefore, the target is the immunization of children against polio as well as Nigerians undergoing malaria screening and treatment, HIV testing and counseling, Hepatitis B & C, diabetes and glucose screening among others,” the past district governor said.

He stressed the importance of the government doing more in creating awareness among Nigerians to know their health status from time to time, because prevention is always better than cure.

Director, RFHA, West Africa, Dr. Jide Akeredolu, said a simple health check with regular exercise would be a good way to maintain good health at all times.
