Garcelle Beauvais looked back on a conversation she had with one of her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates about race amid her sophomore season with the show during a recent radio appearance.

After previously alleging that Lisa Rinna, 62, had advised her to keep race topics away from the series since it was meant to be entertaining, Garcelle, 59, who quit her role on the show in March 2025, admitted the request made her feel as though she was trying to negate both her and her experience and revealed whether she’d tuned into the series since leaving.

“I didn’t think about walking away then, but I was very taken aback by that because I show up and my race shows up with me, and if this is truly reality, don’t you want to see my reality too?” Garcelle asked on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show. “I mean, obviously, I don’t wear it like, ‘We have to, you know, Black power.’ That’s not who I am, but at the same time, you can’t negate who I am and what I bring and my experience.”

“That was a tough one, honestly,” she added.

Meanwhile, on the May 25 episode of On Par With Maury Povich, via @Housewivesfromahousewife on Instagram, Garcelle confirmed she had not seen any episodes of RHOBH since announcing her departure last year.

“I have not. I needed a break. Maury, the whole point was I needed a break,” she admitted.

As for whether she was replaced on the show, Garcelle noted that Rachel Zoe, 54, was brought on after her exit.

Garcelle Beauvais was featured in a full-time role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from season 10 through season 14.
