Garcelle Beauvais would rather be his son Oliver Saundershas remained relatively unscathed in the court of public opinion after sharing a kiss on the screen with Vanderpump Rules star, Rachel Levisafter news broke of her months-long relationship with her costar Tom Sandoval.
“Oh, my God. My children,” Garcelle told Entertainment Tonight while visiting her friend and costar, Sutton Strake‘s, party celebrating the fourth anniversary of her boutique, Sutton Concept. “When it got bigger than what Oliver did, I was like, ‘Wow. Thank God. It’s not just him.'”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star continues to explain in the matter stating that he wishes Oliver had not gotten himself caught up in a scandal, he realizes that his son is an adult who makes his own decisions, regardless of his opinion.
“I mean, listen, Oliver is a grown man. Do I agree with everything he does? Absolutely not. But I love him, and what are you going to do?” he stated.
Garcelle explained that she didn’t watch Oliver and Raquel’s interaction go down in “real time” but that she actually had a hard time seeing the couple’s attraction go down later, especially knowing what is now known as Vanderpump Rules scandals continue to dominate the headlines.
“I found myself watching through my fingers,” the actress said. “You don’t want to see your child make it. And it felt like the whole episode. It felt like it was slowly creeping in. I couldn’t accept it.”
After the current scandal, Garcelle revealed that Oliver admitted that reality television might not be for him.
“He was like, ‘I don’t think reality is for me,'” she shared. “And I went, ‘Good. No.'”
Garcelle seems to be one protective mother.
The actress also took the time to reveal that she has tried to get OG RHOBA housewife, Lisa Vanderpumpto make a small return to the franchise as it continues filming for 13Th winter, and it actually almost happened!
“No, you know, it’s close,” Garcelle said. “I almost asked him to come to a screening of a movie I had, and he stopped. You never know. I still talk to him about it.
He continued, “I would love it. And I think some would love it, and some wouldn’t.”
We can only assume she’s referring to her former BFF Lisa, Kyle Richards.
RHOBA has welcomed back to kill the former star for the future season including OG’s Kim Richards and Camilla Grammeralso a fan favorite, Denise Richards. Garcelle, Denise’s known defender, was happy to have the addition.
“I feel happy. I think it’s good,” he said, concluding that bringing back familiar and interesting faces “improves our show.
