Gambia’s Vice President, Badara Joof, was killed.
He died after a brief illness, according to a tweet from Gambian President Adama Barrow.
“Friend #GambiaIt is with sadness that I announce his death #Vice President, His Excellency, Badara Alieu Joof. The sad incident happened in India after a short illness. May God grant you Jannahtul Firdawsi,” tweeted President Barrow.
Before assuming the position of vice president, Mr. Joof previously served as the Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology from 2017 to 2022.
