Ready for some more tossed salad and scrambled eggs! Frasier of the most popular comedies of the 1990s and 2000s – and the sitcom is finally getting the revival treatment.
Frasier ran for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004 on NBC. The show, which held the record for most Emmy Awards won by a scripted series at the time, surpassed Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) is a successful Boston therapist who moves to Seattle to start a new life. In his new city, psychotherapist – who viewers first met as a supporting character cheering – hosts his own talk show while struggling with his personal life and relationship with father (John Mahoney) and younger brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce).
Nearly twenty years later Frasier finished, the sitcom is gearing up for a second life – a project that is almost a decade in the making.
“We’re actually talking to a few writers and discussing options and where we might think it would fit. So there’s some movement; we’ll see what happens,” Grammer said exclusively Us Weekly in February 2019, adding that he just wanted to make sure the revival was “awesome.”
At It proved to be clean alum shows at the time that fans can expect a “third act” of sorts of characters – but not to hold out hope for another familiar face.

“Some people — probably most of the people who were on the original show — will be back, but we’re in a different place,” he said. “There is something wrong. We’re not going to pick up where we left off.”
The finale features Frasier moving to Chicago with his girlfriend Charlotte (Laura Linney), chose him instead of taking steps to improve his career. Initially, the plan was to bring the radio host back to his old stomping grounds, but problems arose after Mahoney’s death in 2018.
Despite its roadblock, show – written by Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli — officially greenlit in February 2021, with Grammer as the only returning original castmember. Less than six months later, the Trippers’ mistake the actor revealed that production of the Paramount + sitcom is officially underway.
“[They’re] The final stages of the final script for the first episode of Frasier come back to life and look great,” he shared during his July 2022 appearance on Discussion. “I’ve had a few runs through, and I’m crying, so, you know, I’m happy. The main ingredient for Frasier Reviving is really Frasier, to be honest. It is always called [Frasier]so this is me, the key is me.”
