Frank Acheampong shines in Dalian Yingbo’s victory over Wuhan Three Towns
Frank Acheampong delivered a decisive display as Dalian Yingbo edged Wuhan Three Towns 3â2, with the Ghanaian winger recording an assist and completing a match-high three dribbles to spearhead the home side’s comeback.
Wuhan struck early when Kilian Bevis finished low into the corner on two minutes, and Jhonder Cadiz added a stoppage-time penalty to send the visitors into the break 2â1 up. Dalian had already responded once through Nicolae Stanciu, who levelled in the 44th minute after Acheampong drove in from the left and picked him out centrally for a composed finish.
After the interval, Dalian’s pressure told as Luo Jing made it 2â2 with a closeârange effort following a fast break in the 55th minute. The hosts kept pushing and were rewarded deep into added time when Luo turned provider, squaring for Cephas Malele to slot home the 90+3âminute winner. Acheampong had set the tone throughout with his direct running and linkâup play before being substituted on 78 minutes.
The performance extends Acheampong’s excellent 2026 Chinese Super League campaign, in which he has now produced five goals and three assists across 17 league matches. Dalian next visit title contenders Shanghai Port on July 12, a clash that will further test their topâfour credentials.
