Fox News host Mark Levin has a long history of supporting conservatives, but he also has a short-term memory when it comes to Donald Trump.
It’s Tuesday morning, Levin took to Twitter to consider in the story of the New York Times that suggested the former president insulted the possible GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis as “Baso Ron,” A apparent dig at the governor of Florida looks stocky or Italian heritage.
Levin doesn’t like the name-calling (although he says he likes meatballs), he says “.will turn off many conservative voters.
He added: “Not a wise move if true. I hope not.”
Many thought the tweet was strange, because it ignored that Trump’s brand is really just insults and grievances. Levin seemed to forget all the times the former president mocked other GOP rivals, like when he described former Florida Governor Jeb Bush as “low energy” or referred to Florida Senator Marco Rubio as “Little Marco.”
The oversight was so apparent that Times reporter Maggie Haberman felt compelled to poke fun at right-wing media personalities, tweet“Our report apparently unlike the Donald Trump that Mark Levin knows.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Levin still had not responded to Haberman’s reminder of Trump’s true nature. Meanwhile, others in the Twittersphere have offered their own thoughts on the commentator’s comments and the GOP’s mudslinging.
