Former Hearts of Oak striker Joseph Esso joins Iraqi side Ghaz Al-Shamal

The 29-year-old signed a deal to join the Iraqi Stars League side from Malaysian Super League club Negeri Sembilan FC.
Esso enjoyed a remarkable season in Malaysia to earn him the move to Al-Shamal. The former Dwarfs and Hearts of Oak player netted ten goals in 20 matches for Sembilan.
“Essau had a good season, scoring ten goals in 20 matches to confirm that the striker knows the net path very well,” wrote the club, announcing his signing. “He is a real addition to the frontline, of what he has physical strength, ideal focus and ability to decide opportunities,” added the club on social media.
The Ghanaian international is expected to boost Ghaz Al-Shamal’s attack for the new season.
Before moving to Asia, Esso had starred for Algerian giants MC Algiers.
