Former GOP Official Predicts Fox News’ Coverage Will Have Lasting Consequences

Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan (R) offered his two cents about the damage Fox News has done by “spreading all the conspiracy theories” on the network.

Duncan weighed in on the ramifications of the network’s coverage on the Republican Party — and its viewers — during a “State of the Union” panel on Sunday.

“What’s going on at Fox News is hard for the Republican party, right?” said Duncan.

“It allows, it may take a decade to dispel some of it, to fan the flames of all these conspiracy theories and it’s painful to watch and listen to.”

He added that all media must find a better balance in managing their for-profit business operations with their mission of sharing news.

Karen Finney, spokeswoman for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, also weighed in on the panel and blasted Fox News for promoting “lies that lead to violence” as seen during the January 6 attack.

“We’re still in a country that’s largely divided on whether you believe the 2020 election is legitimate,” Finney said.

“Fox News – ‘the news’ – has been part of creating a divide in America and it’s a shame, frankly.”
