Fans were offered deeply discounted tickets to Floyd Mayweather Jr’s showdown against Aaron Chalmers hours before Saturday night’s fight amid reports of empty seats at the O2 Arena.
One ticketing agency contacted customers on the evening of the fight to offer tickets for just £4.95.
Sky Sports contacted O2 regarding ticket sales for the event.
Mayweather made his UK debut in what marked his latest exhibition fight, a big punch after previous contests against Logan Paul and Deji Olatunji by taking on former Geordie Shore reality TV star Chalmers.
The American has traveled from other countries accompanied by a large entourage, prompting jokes on social media that someone could help fill the empty seats in London.
It proved another regular outing for the retired undefeated world champion when he cruised through eight rounds with ease, with Chalmers admitting the opportunity was “one to tell the grandkids about!”.
Meanwhile, Mayweather has appreciated the support he has received since arriving in England.
“I want to thank all the fans in England,” Mayweather said. “The fans are unbelievable.
“This guy is tough as nails, we have a chance to get together. I’m here to entertain people and I’m happy to come.
“I have a lot of experience. He has to keep working hard and believe in himself. He has a tough chin – anything is possible.”
