No less than 25 shops were gutted by fire at Araromi Spare parts market, Agodi Gate, Ibadan in the early hours of Friday.
The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with News Office of Nigeria (NAN) is in Ibadan.
Mr Akinyinka said the service received a call about the incident at around 2.30am through a man, Mr Soliu, and immediately sent personnel to the scene to put out the fire.
“The incident was caused by the accidental burning of garbage. they refused to put down the burning garbage before leaving the store and rising.

“The impression we gave at first was that about 45 shops were affected, but when we got there, we found 25 shops were affected by the fire,” Mr Akinyinka said.
Furthermore, he said that his men were able to put out the fire on Saturday at 5 am and there were no casualties in the incident.
