After initially leaving the voting unit due to the late arrival of voting materials and officials, the vice presidential candidate from All Progressive Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima, finally voted in Shettimari unit.
After voting, Mr. Shettima said he was optimistic about the election process.
Mr. Shettima called on all contestants to accept the election results in good faith.
“Nigerians should work for the good of the country.
“The longer journey is a call for national unity and progress.
On the challenges he experienced, which affected his chances to vote earlier, Mr. Shettima said it was normal, given the huge tasks of organizing elections in a populous country like Nigeria.

“It is too early to pass judgment on INEC, we must give it the benefit of the doubt.
“I believe INEC is pragmatic enough to extend voting to 6pm or even 10pm so that the people can exercise their right to vote,” Mr Shettima said.
