
The famous and experienced photojournalist died of cold hands on Thursday, January 5, 2023, after a brief illness.
Popularly known as ‘Eshin’ in the media community and outside, Kuti is a friendly journalist who cares and handles his job with diligence and professionalism.
In a statement by the chairman of NUJ Lagos, Adeleye Ajayi, the union expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and the Nigerian Association of Photojournalists.
The statement read, “We received the sad news of the death of our beloved brother, Femi Adebesin-Kuti, Photo Editor of Guardian Newspaper which happened today with great shock.
“We pray that God in his infinite mercy will sustain and comfort his family and friends in this difficult time as we sympathize with the members of the Guardian Newspaper Chapel and the entire PJAN family.
In every task he covers, his distinction and dedication to duty is unmatched as he will go above and beyond to ensure every moment that needs to be captured will not be missed by the lens.
As one of the renowned photojournalists honing his skills to the best of his abilities, Kuti has covered countless sporting events in Nigeria, Africa and around the world, especially the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and FIFA World Cup events.
Kuti who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State will be buried today according to Islamic rites.
