The FCT Police Command has been cracking down on scavengers who are carrying out criminal activities in their jurisdiction.
It was gathered that the command will soon attack them in a major move to get rid of the evil elements in the city.
The new FCT police boss, CP Sadiq Abubakar is said to have given a marching order to divisional police chiefs to work with FCT environmental agencies to send scavengers packing from Abuja.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Josephine Adeh who confirmed the move by the CP noted: “The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory has given strict directives to all supervising Police Officers to synergize with the Abuja Environmental Protection Council and other relevant agencies . to get rid of the capital from the scavengers. He has ordered that they be charged to court when they are arrested and the loot destroyed.
