A power outage, which affected the Public Address System (PAS), disrupted the ongoing campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi State, yesterday.

The Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, and the APC governorship candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd), have addressed party supporters ahead of the incident.

National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu; presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu; and President Muhammadu Buhari, however, could not overcome the supporters, as broken equipment forced the program to stop abruptly.

In the ensuing commotion, angry party supporters were seen leaving the venue. Wali gathered that a vehicle belonging to one of the security agencies assigned to the venue had stepped on one of the wires, causing an electrical spark that affected PAS. .

The plane carrying the President touched down at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Airport, Bauchi, at about 10.22am. Security agencies are struggling to control heavy vehicular and human traffic at the campaign site, as the President was received at the airport terminal by the APC governorship candidate and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor of the state, Bala Mohammed, who will be re-elected in the March 11 gubernatorial election. 2023. UPBEAT that APC will win the Bauchi gubernatorial poll, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yakubu Ajaka, described the crowd that celebrated the presidential rally as a clear indication of Governor Mohammed’s defeat.

Therefore, he asked the governor to start preparing the handover notes to be given on May 29. The party commended the people of Bauchi for coming out massively to welcome Tinubu, adding that the show of support for the former Lagos governor was a clear verdict on the maladministration of the PDP in the state. Ajaka assured that Tinubu would reward Bauchi people for their support
