Sky Sports continue the weekly column, bringing you important tips from the best Fantasy Premier League managers in the world.

In our latest column, Holly Shand and Sam from FPL Family discusses everything FPL ahead of the latest gameweek, including wildcard tactics and why this week includes players from Brighton and Brentford.

If you didn’t make a wildcard last week, is this the week to do it?

Holly Shand: Potential. Using a wildcard will allow you to expand to double in front of us, as well as navigate Gameweek 28 without using Free Hits. There will be a chance for a wildcard later in the season, but given the unsettled time in the Schedule we know in front of us, I don’t see a good reason to stay. That being said, if you already have some players from Brentford and Brighton plus two free transfers you may be able to navigate through this period without it, because it depends a little on the team.

Sam from FPL Family: I still hold my Wildcard through to GW29 so I can really target the biggest double gameweek of the season and have information about what Gameweek 32 will look like. If the manager is struggling to double his players this week and has a team that looks tough to navigate for Gameweek 28, then this could be a good week for the wildcard.

What will your GW27 wildcard team look like?

Holly Shand: Raya, Kepa; Trippier, Estupinan, Henry, James, Schar; March, Mac Allister, Saka, Rashford, Maddison; Haaland, Toney, Watkins.

Sam from FPL Family: I think you should target Brentford this week. I will treble up with Henry, Jensen and Toney. I’m going for only two Brighton assets in Mac Allister and Estupinan, and then sell one of them ahead of Gameweek empty 28. I’ll stick with Kepa in goal but have Steel as the second and then you have a goalkeeper for every week. Three Arsenal players in Gabriel, Martinelli and Saka also caught the likes of Trippier, Rashford and Kane. I think you should hold Haaland this week but you can sell for Ollie Watkins before Gameweek 28.

Who is your captain this week?

Holly Shand: I’m torn between Ivan Toney and the Brighton midfielder. I think Toney is a safe choice because of his higher possession: only Harry Kane and Erling Haaland have scored more goals this season. I also like the potential for bonus points as well which gives a welcome boost to the score, plus also in penalties. The Brighton midfielder will share the captaincy and points, despite the differences and a big promotion if you’re right!

Sam from FPL Family: I’m going to Tony. He is in free-kicks and set-pieces and has produced more strikes this season (18) than he did during the last campaign (17). He was a talisman and everything Brentford did he would do.

For those of you with a left boost bench – are you going to play this week or save it for something else like GW29?

Holly Shand: While I will navigate through Gameweek 27 with a strong bench, it looks even stronger in Gameweek 29 which will be the second Gameweek for 12 teams. For that reason, I will wait but there is some danger here as the big double will come after an international break that is notorious for heavy injuries and a period of rotation for our fantasy team.

Sam from FPL Family: If you have to bench like Gabriel, Martinelli etc this week, it is a perfect week to boost the bench because they have nice fixtures and can punish the manager who bench them.

Should the triple-up at Brighton and Brentford this week be necessary?

Holly Shand: Brentford have more players than Brighton in the coming week, with five games in the next three. It will be a challenge to add three more Brighton assets due to the void next week, but doubling up in midfield could be profitable given their current form and the appeal of the fixture. If picking Brentford’s three players, I’d prefer to counter attack, with Toney to do the job.

Sam from FPL Family: Not. There are a lot of teams that have great Gameweek matches that you should be selling on the bench. Brentford’s Toney and the Brighton midfielder are important – anyone out there is excellent.

Which Brighton midfielder do you prefer?

Holly Shand: Now I think Alexis Mac Allister might be the man to do it. He was second for big chances in four games last week with five and he was on penalties. The only risk is that he excels in the number 10 role but could be moved back. Solly Maret is a consistent player with 10 key passes and five chances created in the last three games.

Sam from FPL Family: I like Mac Allister. He now plays in the number 10 position which is a bit more advanced than the double pivot we saw earlier this season. This has greatly improved his base stats. They also have the responsibility of punishment which adds another string to the bow. The brace from the strike back in Gameweek 26 means I will continue to start in this forward position moving forward.

Is Jason Steele a steal at the £3.9m forward?

Holly Shand: Potentially, this is the move I would like to see for Robert Sanchez this week, but I expect some words from Roberto De Zerbi in his press conference on Friday. Brighton have a couple of weeks of double games coming up where they could also provide a good utility.

Sam from FPL Family: He is very capable! Now he has the jersey and I expect him to start the match in GW27. Whether he will hold that position forever remains to be seen, but as long as you pair him with a certain starter such as Kepa, then he is the perfect choice.
