The FA will speak to officials at Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle as well as South Yorkshire Police after reports said fans were concerned about overcrowding at the FA Cup third round tie at Hillsborough.

At Sunday Times have spoken to supporters who raised concerns relating to the lower level of the Leppings Lane End stand.

Some fans suggested that there was too much crowd as the supporters came through the tunnel to the center stand.

Pictures taken at the game posted on social media show spare seats in the lower terrace area, either side of the middle of the stand.

Fans also expressed concern about what they said was a lack of flight attendants on duty.

The crash at the same Leppings Lane End in the 1989 FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest resulted in the deaths of 97 Liverpool supporters in the Hillsborough disaster.
