FA Cup: Aduana Stars beat Kotoko to secure last eight place

Aduana Stars have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup after defeating Asante Kotoko 1-0 in a fierce match at Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Sunday.

Both teams had some good chances in the first half, but failed to convert, resulting in a goalless draw at half time.

However, Aduana were awarded a penalty in the 57th minute when Mohammed Alhassan brought down an Aduana player in the box. Sam Adams stepped up and coolly converted the penalty to give Aduana the lead.

Aduana Stars managed to withstand Kotoko’s late pressure to secure their place in the next round, keeping their hopes of the double alive.

Meanwhile, Legon Cities managed to advance to the quarter-finals after surviving a scare to win a penalty shoot-out 4-3 against a hard-fought opponent, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the El-Wak stadium.

On the other hand, Heart of Lions let go of their lead in the first half and lost 2-1 to Skyy FC at Kpando Park.
