Ex-CIA Director Criticizes Marjorie Taylor Greene For Defense Of Pentagon Leaks Suspect

Brennan’s record came after the Republic of Georgia tweeted that the suspect, Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, “was treated like a traitor and a criminal.”

This and similar comments from Greene, include one suggest that the White House is the “real enemy” in the case, prompting pushback from officials and others online, with former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) tweet that Greene himself “cannot be trusted” with national security information.

During an appearance on MSNBC, Brennan agreed with Cheney, who was applauded for having “spine” in speaking out against Greene.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene has shown time and time again that she is not fit to hold public office with some of the comments she has made, even before,” said Brennan, who led the CIA under former President Barack Obama.

“He should not be given that type of sensitive and classified information. And he has some clearance because of his role in Congress and his position on certain committees,” he said, referring to his seat on the Homeland Security Committee and other appointments.

“You can have this weird policy view that we shouldn’t be helping Ukraine, and if you have it, you can still punish and punish unauthorized disclosure of classified information. [damaged] … our interests abroad.”
